It is one thing to post your pictures online, and another to see them printed, framed, and put onto the wall of a gallery. Photography, in its own way, is like childbirth - while photographing is the act of conception, printing is the final delivery of one's vision.
From a simple collection of over 200 pictures of the General Elections 2011 on his Facebook album, photographer Edwin Koo has moved these images from the virtual world into a real art space.
What started out as a simple social media experiment has achieved success in its own measure, as the Facebook albums became viral and were shared by thousands of Singaporeans, days before the nation went to the ballot box.
The comments and response from fellow Singaporeans on Facebook spurred the photographer to launch his first solo exhibition, featuring more than 20 handprinted artwork from his collection.
